Tim Steed moved to Orange County in 1986 where he has lived for the past 19 years. He has been a life long Democrat and has attended public schools in Orange County from kindergarten through college.

Tim began his activity in the Democratic Party at the college level. He served as Vice President of the Saddleback College Democrats from 2000-2001, and President from 2001-2003. In 2003 he was elected Chair of the Orange County Young Democrats, where he is serving in his third term.

As OCYD Chair Tim Steed has assisted in the creation of many high school clubs in Orange County. In 2004 the OCYD formed a county wide political action committee called the Orange County Victory Fund (OCVF) which served as the county wide coordinated campaign for dozens of Democratic candidates such as: Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (47th), Assembly member Tom Umberg (69th), and many Democrats running for local office.

Tim currently is a member of his County Central Committee, and is active at the state party level through his Assembly District Committee. When not working on politics, Tim enjoys surfing, going to Las Vegas with his brothers, and spending time with his girlfriend Jennifer.
